Ezzah
Ezzah Nurfarah, born on the 28th of February 1993, emerged from the tapestry of life with an innate connection to music. From her early years, the rhythmic cadence of rock music spoke to her soul, and her journey as a musician began with a piano, an instrument she took classes for but never completed, as life's twists led her towards a different path.
Her lyrical canvas drew inspiration from her profound interpretation of life and the shadows within human nature. Evanescence, the first rock band that bewitched her senses, left an indelible mark on her musical taste, shaping the contours of her artistic expression.
As she traversed the maze of adolescence, Ezzah found herself in the heart of a local three-piece band named After2sessions. In this group, she assumed the roles of bassist and lead vocalist, infusing her compositions with poignant lyrics. After2sessions eventually disbanded, but Ezzah, undeterred, continued her musical odyssey, sharing her creations on Soundcloud.
As the years unfolded, Ezzah Nurfarah delved deeper into the labyrinth of music and along the way, she stumbled upon a band that would become a pivotal force in shaping her sonic identity—the mighty Queens of the Stone Age. In the sultry grooves and electrifying riffs of their music, Ezzah discovered a new dimension of inspiration.
Drawing inspiration from the eclectic palette of musical influences, Ezzah found herself enamored with the rebellious spirit of The Cramps, the psychedelic allure of The Doors, the gritty intensity of The Pretty Reckless, the whimsical genius of Syd Barrett, the avant-garde stylings of Captain Beefheart, and the haunting melodies of PJ Harvey. Each artist contributed a brushstroke to Ezzah's evolving canvas, shaping the tapestry of her musical expression.
Behind the curtain of melodies, Ezzah faced an ongoing battle with major depression, social anxiety, and panic attacks. In 2019, the weight of traumatic events led to a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Music and art became her sanctuary, a therapeutic refuge that guided her through the shadows toward the light of healing.
In 2021, destiny took a turn when Coki, a friend of her now fiancé, extended an invitation to join his indie rock band named Heroine as a bassist and occasional vocalist. Ezzah's presence made waves as she appeared as a fill-in vocalist for Heroine on the local TV show TVS: SEMBANG KENCANG.
The year 2022 saw Ezzah grace the stage with Heroine at gigs like Stuck in 90's, Kahf Studio No Border, and LiveInKch. However, the narrative shifted when Heroine announced a hiatus, prompting Ezzah, fueled by an unwavering passion for music, to forge her own path. Thus, The Hazze was born—a manifestation of Ezzah's resilience, creativity, and a testament to the healing power of music.

Cimi
Born on the 3rd of May 1996, Azmi Jeprin, fondly known as Jimmy or Cimi, embarked on a melodic journey that led him to become the bassist of The Hazze. His love affair with music began at the age of 13, fueled by a deep passion for the sounds of Malaysian bands like BUNKFACE, COUPLE, HUJAN, and THE CHANGCUTERS.

The allure of the stage beckoned early for Cimi, prompting him to join his first band, The Crack Shorts, as a bassist for his school's Battle of the Bands event. Although the band's journey was short-lived, it marked the beginning of Cimi's musical exploration. Undeterred, he and his cousin formed The Warm, a three-piece band drawing inspiration from Bittersweet, The Who, and The Strypes, securing gigs that showcased their evolving musical identity.

The sonic tapestry of Cimi's musical journey unfolded further in 2016 when he answered the call to join Caustic Cross as a bassist, only to witness the band's disbandment in 2017. However, his commitment to The Warm persisted, and on a new horizon, he briefly played with Delay in 2018 before life's circumstances led to the band's dissolution.

Post-COVID, Cimi found himself playing with DrunkPig, a local metal band, for a single show before his academic pursuits compelled him to step back from the stage. A hiatus ensued as studies and work took precedence.

In 2023, a new chapter unfolded when Wak extended an invitation for Cimi to join The Hazze. Drawn by the captivating melodies and poignant lyrics of Ezzah, Cimi felt an immediate connection and alignment with the band's musical ethos.

Cimi's influences, rooted in his early love for Malaysian rock bands, expanded during his teen years to include Arctic Monkeys, Da Vagabonds, Bittersweet, Oasis, Beach Fossils, The Drums, Pond, and Tame Impala. As adulthood beckoned, he found solace in the darkness and melancholy of DIIV, Interpol, and Slowdive.

Within The Hazze, Cimi's basslines weave a melodic narrative that resonates with the band's diverse influences. His affinity for darkness, mellowness, and hope-infused music finds a home in the evolving sound of The Hazze, adding a profound layer to their sonic journey. Cimi, with his deep-rooted connection to the Malaysian music scene and a penchant for emotive melodies, stands as an integral part of The Hazze's musical evolution.

Saren
Born on the 25th of September 2001, Mohammad Shahreen's journey into the world of rhythm began at a mere seven years old. Hailing from Kuching, Malaysia, his parents recognized the burgeoning talent in their son and, with wholehearted approval, enrolled him in drum lessons at the International Music House.

Shahreen's percussive passion found its first muse in the explosive beats of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan from Avenged Sevenfold. Inspired by the dynamism and creativity of one of modern drumming's legends, Shahreen dedicated himself to mastering the art of drumming.

As fate would have it, Shahreen, at the age of 15, seized an opportunity to share his rhythmic prowess with the world. He joined a local grunge band named JunkFizzies, and together, they graced the stage at Grunge Fest 2017, leaving an indelible mark on the local music scene.

However, the ebb and flow of life's commitments led to the disbandment of JunkFizzies in 2018. Shahreen, alongside the band's bassist, faced the reality of needing to redirect their focus to the demands of their SPM finals. Undeterred by the pause in formal band endeavors, Shahreen continued to nurture his drumming skills at home. His commitment remained unwavering, evident in the drum covers he diligently shared on social media platforms.

In the continuum of his musical journey, a pivotal moment arrived when Arel, a friend with ties to both Shahreen and Ezzah, extended a compelling invitation. The call to join The Hazze resonated deeply with Shahreen, and without hesitation, he embraced the opportunity to contribute his rhythmic artistry to this burgeoning musical force.

Shahreen's drumming style mirrors a diverse palette of influences, drawing inspiration from genres as varied as nu metal, progressive metal, grunge, and 70's hard rock. His universal appreciation for different musical styles adds a unique flavor to The Hazze's genre-defying sound.

In Mohammad Shahreen, The Hazze found not only a drummer but a rhythmic catalyst—a musician whose beats echo the diverse tapestry of his influences, propelling the band into uncharted musical territories. Shahreen's story with The Hazze is a testament to the enduring power of passion and the transformative force of rhythm in the world of music.
